Better boat gas mileage

What are some ways to get better boat gas mileage? I have a 1996 Evinrude 115 that runs at 5200 RPMS at full throttle and trimmed up. Where would my "sweet spot" be with this motor? Need to try find ways to save $$$ this summer!

Your "sweet spot" is going to be to back off once you're on plane to a slower running speed that keeps you on plane.

That's where you're going to have the best fuel economy.

marine man is right, the slowest speed that keeps you easily on plane will be your most fuel efficient speed.
