Title - selling boat

Hi, I'm selling a '86 lund I bought 3-4 years ago. I went through my paper work and don't have and never got a title for the boat. I do have the registration card and trailer registration cards in my name. With the boat being an 86 am I going to have problem selling this, or whats my next step do I contact the state or am I ok to sell? Thanks

The registration card for the boat is the title.

Give the guy a bill of sale with the boats registration numbers and your good to go.

Just to be on the safe side, call the DNR and find out if there's a title for it.

Some states have a title and others dont. In Wi. anything under 16' all you need is a signed bill of sale, New Boats 16' and over need MSO required and Pre Owned Boats 16' and over need a signed title from owner and it must be signed by all owners listed and all liens must be clear and satisfied.

Call your DNR because at times it matters what state your buying it in as well.
