Double Uni Knots

Has anyone had any trouble splicing Fireline with a Uni to Uni? I'm concerned about slippage.

It's a hassle to tie, but it's my most trusted line joining knot.

I use it to join backing to FireLine and it works fine. I have a bunch of partial spools of Fireline and I'd like to use them this season.

I just did that myself over the weekend. It felt plenty strong, I sure hope it is. I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks.

It works well for me. I add a couple more wraps to each side when tying fireline, especially smaller diameter stuff.

I've been using it for the past 2 years to tie backing and also a mono leader to fireline and I haven't had a break yet, if you're tieing fireline to fireline it's the best knot you can use. It's also a very good idea, I have about 5 spools sitting around that all have about 75 yards on them.

I've done it on baitcasting reels without any problem. Plenty strong if you can get it tightened down well.

Not sure if the little knot would be a problem catching line with a spinning reel however during a cast or during line release . I'm just thinking that even a little bobber stop knot can mess up the line feed on a spinning reel at times.
