Esox and the stretch are both open, the big lake is very close but not open yet. We are expecting rain the next couple of days, so it could be the next day or so.

Does anyone know if the ice is off of Savoy lake near Ignace or also Peguchi? Also has anyone heard if the bait stores have had trouble getting minnows?

I've just heard the ice is out on Eagle Lake at Vermillion Bay. The rest of the lake should be clear of ice by later today or tomorrow at the latest.

The lakes around Ignace should be ice free. Ignace Airways did a scouting flight Tuesday over their camps and ours all located north of Ignace. They said there was almost no ice left and it should all be gone by this weekend.

Give us a report. My father and the retirees are opening the camp next weekend and my guys are headed up the Thursday after Memorial weekend. It is a long wait every winter to get back to our little paradise.

6 of us went into Pipestone on the 16th for 3 days. Lots of wind, some rain and fishing was OK. Stayed in a cabin in the NW Arm. Good time was had by all.
