fish mark 320 settings?

bgreen82

Question

anybody use this locator, and if so what settings do you use to get the best results as to finding fish with it? i know it isnt top of the line, but i rarely mark fish with mine, unless i am completely in the wrong places at the wrong times, which i dont think, since i still am catching some fish, im just not seeing them on the screen. thanks for any help.

If you're not marking fish the first thing to check is the transducer mounting. The bottom face of the transducer should be pointed straight down (parallel to the bottom of the lake) when you're fishing. If you're not sure, try adjusting it slightly and see what that does for you.

Next you can try turning up your sensitivity. At some point it will get too high and you'll pick up a ton of clutter, back it down a few clicks from that point and you should be good.

I think there's also settings for noise reduction and surface clutter. You want these set as low as possible so the unit doesn't filter out too much, ie. fish signals.

Hope this gets you going in the right direction. Good luck.

In addition to PerchJerker's advice get to know the grayline and fishreveal for those bottom or weed hugging fish. You can download an emulator for that sounder at Eagle's site. Its not like the real thing but it gets you started.
