I hope this is the right forum to ask this question.. sorry if it's not!
Looks like I'm going to be moving to MN from TX and be here year round(I've been going to school at Carleton College in Northfield, and will be graduating in 7 weeks!), and just realized there isn't a single bass pro shop in this state. I've always done my tackle shopping at the same bass pro most of my life, they've treated me well and it was a store I knew, but now I am going to have to find somewhere new.
Anyone know what the closest tackle shop to Northfield is? I don't have my own car and I hate asking a friend to drive two hours away just so I can do some shopping. I don't know what the better retailers you have here in MN, and would love some guidance for what places to check out. The only outdoors store I remember seeing anywhere nearby is a Gander Mountain a little ways north on 35, but I've never been in one and have no idea if they carry fishing tackle.
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
