Air Rifle Question

I have a Gamo varmint stalker. .177 cal. 1000 fps I have thined out some squirrels and some rabbits. As far as pelets go, I just use the crosman hunting pellets. I have a red dot scope on mine. I paid $175.

I have a Crosman Quest 1000x, it came with a scope (4x32), which i dont use because to me it makes it harder to use. I use it on squirrels, rabbits, and gophers, 1000fps with fiber optic sights, nothing can go wrong.

At 50 yards, you'll want at least a 1000 fps gun. Choose your pellets wisely. There is a huge difference in quality.

My sons have a Gamo .177 cal. that shoots only 600 fps. It's topped with a red dot scope and shoots the RWS Superpoint Extra pellets the best. I was impressed with these pellets as you don't get the usual fringing from a poor mold.

The best part is within 30 yards, with this pellet/rifle combo, varmints stand no chance. They'll lay right over. I would prefer a faster shooting rifle, but I can't quite convince the wife that I need the new Gamo that shoots 1600 fps.

Some of these high powered air guns, have had problems with the scope moving after a few shots, so check some of the former threads about this, and check out the scope if used, every few shots 'til your sure its not moving... cool.gif

Brought a type of Ammo thread for airguns forward, can't find the scope discussion one...
