Buying an Ifinder off the Internet and warranty

jigeye

Question

If I buy a brand new Ifinder off a poplular Intenet HSOforum and have an issue with it will Lowrance fix it under warranty if I have a reciept? I have heard different stories about them not honoring their warranty if it wasn't purchased from a typical retail store. Have tried to contact Lowrance with no success.

I bought mine off Nerds something off the internet and Lowrance has been nothing but excellent. I had an issue a few years later with the software and they took care of it no problem.

If you purchase it from an authorized dealer the full warranty is in effect regardless if you get it in a store or off the internet. Bass Pro, Thorne bros, Cabelas and others sell their Lowrance units over the internet, do you think they sell them without warranties? The key thing is to purchase it from an authorized dealer.

Thanks for the replies, I will contact the internet company directly and find out if they are an authorized dealer.

What happens if someone gets a Lowrance product as a gift and doesn't have the receipt? Is that warranty void?

You know those "register your product" cards that come with all these toys that nobody ever fill out (I am so bad at this)? That is what they are for, it's a way for the company to track the ownership and purchases of their products.

If the popular internet HSOforum is HSOList and it's a private party you may be buying some hot merchandise. I don't know if they can track that down or not. I got a unit a few years ago this way and some really wierd stuff happened to my computer a short time later. Careful.

The site is not hsolist or Tiger and it is a brand new product in the factory packaging. I did contact them and they assured me that the OEM would warranty the product purchased from them.
