Spazzums08
Hey guys, why are Extra-Fast rods used for jigging/drop-shotting, and moderate ones used for cranking?
Deitz Dittrich
Its all about the presentation. On lures where its your job to move the lure and give it action, a fast tip is key to being able to give that lure the action. Often times a good backbone is needed to drive the hook home, which usually also comes with a fast tip. With lures like cranks, and spinnerbaits. Lures that have their own action, and the reel gives the lure the most action. A slower more moderate action is key to allowing the fish to be hooked better, and keep them hooked. If you use a fast tip rod for cranks you will probably get as many bites, but you will hook less, and get even fewer to the boat.just my opinion.
