Dog in Heat?

My Yellow Lab is 9months old. Last night she was crying/moaning - restless and just seemed like there was something wrong. When playing she was fine. Did not eat as much as she usually does.

She also would turn on her back and want her belly rubbed. This morning she was fine. No discharge - Tail was not "flagging." Any thoughts?

Lift her up and gently pinch her tinkler so that it splits open. If she is real red or has a trace of blood she is coming in or is already in.

As far as the "flagging" goes, she won't "flag" until she is ready to have the act performed on her.

Some dogs will kept themselves licked clean. Some will not bleed much their 1st time. Your dog is right at the age were she will come into season. Her back end should swell up to twice the size when in heat. She will be in standing heat for about 4 days then slowly go back to normal.
