They are getting restless

I'm getting reports of large pike swimming just below the ice on Red. This is pretty much our groundhog for ice out. Looks like it is two weeks before they start moving in. Funny how these fish just know when it is going to happen. Either way it is spooking the heck out of some crappie fishermen, look down the hole and have two big eyes looking back.

Just so long as they aren't up there due to low oxygen. Shouldn't be a problem on Red, but it may be the reason on some other lakes.

Never seen pike spawn though, hoping to this year, and perhaps even bringing a swim up or two home for the aquarium. Probably not an economical decision though, I already have a bass that eats way too much.
