ice conditions for dec 5 weekend

want to know ice conditions in the sqauw lake/bigfork area.

Can't speak for Bigfork area directly, but the smaller shallow lakes around Ely have 4 to 6 inches of ice, and the small shallow lakes around Bemidji have about the same.

So, since Bigfork is between Ely and 'midji, if you're looking at a smaller shallow lake, you're probably looking at decent ice, especially by next weekend. I don't know the lake you mentioned.

Of course, NO ICE IS SAFE. Just had to get that off my chest. I've been fishing on 4 to 6 inches, but still keep the life jacket handy.
