Lower Unit protection

Does any one know of a Lower unit guard that can be purchased for a larger motor, like a 115hp? I liked the design of the Rock hopper but they are only sold for up to 30hp? I would like to get something i can trust on the river to help save props and lower units. I know nothing will save a lower unit if you are at crusing speed, but at least some protection would be nice at slower speeds.

I've only seen that type of thing used on small rental boats in Canada. One of the resort owners I stayed with made his own to bolt to his rental motors. You could probably go that route, find a machine shop to fabricate one for you.

I don't know how effective they'd be on bigger, heavier rigs?????

Skeggard. Most marine dealers should be able to get them through Bell, or other distributors. If not, google it up and find an online store that sells them.
