Nah, I have a VW, Chev, John Deer, Mercury, And a Polaris. It all depends on who owns it and how they take care of them..

Sorry Valv, but isn't it funny how Dodge gets left out? Why is it Ford vs Chevy? But I'm sure you get my point. And like Davesfriend said, alot of it has to do with how it is taken care of. As for Mercs being moody(or any other brand) maybe its the mechanic. I too had trouble tuning certain motors and had developed a prejudice towards some. But i have had the privilage of learning from some of the best in the business. I cant tell you how many inline 4 & 6 cyl mercs I have had come through my shop, got em running like a sewing machine and have the guy tell me he has had it all over the place and no one could work the bugs out.
