Reading my Marcum Question

I bought my first flasher this year a Marcum LX3tc. Love it. Lately I have been getting readings where the the screen will just light up like little yellow pop bottle rockets going off. I know it's bait of some sort because the sunnies just start hammering my little jig and waxie when this occurs. I'm wondering what type of bait this is? I'm guessing it's a bug hatch but have not kept any of the fish I have caught to check their stomachs. Any ideas?

Seems I had the same experience this past weekend. We were fishing in 23 FOW and I noticed it like 1-5' below the ice. Wasn't sure if it was bait or something....or just something with the flasher.

How sensitive and how great a target separation that is!!!!

On my LX5 when that happens, on some occassion I suddenly get a hit in the middle of the fireworks flasher excitement. Sometimes I get litte nudges of baitfish just brushing up against my line when they swim directly through it.

On my buddy's Vex FL8 he says it's like a cloud of blurr. My other buddy's FL18 says, it's a school of four or five big fishes! I'm laughing at him because I've got better target seperation and read it as a school of baitfish.

I hate it more when you read a false bottom because there's so much fish schooling.

I'm fishing in 10.5 ft. of water and the flashes are usually between three to five feet off the bottom. When they are there you better get ready because you are going to get bit.
