Would anybody know what would have made that hole.

River is about to open up, small holes in the ice make for little springs.

I will take a shot at this.

Not knowing where exactly the hole is located and how big it is.

I am thinking it is from a muskrat or beaver when the river had higher water, assuming it is at the rivers edge.
