J. Hall
Which size glow devil, between 1/16 and 1/8 oz., should I get for crappies? I have heard people have had success on the 1/8 oz., but now that the 1/16 oz. is available would that be better? For walleyes which should I get first some angel eye jrs. or some bigger sized glow devil? Thanks,J. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 22, 2003 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 22, 2003 It depends on the mood of the fish. Each one will work better than the other in different situations.Very tough questions to answer. If you have a limited budget, get 1/8 oz Glow Devils and Angel Eye Jrs. Guest
J. Hall, Welcome to Fishing Minnesota!I haven't had a chance to us the 1/16 oz Devils yet but I know the 1/8 oz Glow Devils catch crappies. I would say that the 1/16 oz are going to work as well, but if I had to choose one I would go with the 1/8 just because you can use them for a lot of species and provide the proper size. The 1/8 oz are great for crappies, perch, walleyes, bass, pike, trout, catfish, eelpout...The Angel Eyes are also great for walleyes. Deciding between Glow Devils and Angel Eyes is tough because both have their place and time. Both give off different action and can be fished different from one another. Both will catch fish but I like to have a lot of options when I hit the ice. Never know what the fish are going to want on any given day, or any given hour for that matter. I hope some of this helps, enjoy the site!Good Fishin,Matt------------------[email protected]Catch-N Tackle and Bio BaitMarCum[This message has been edited by MJ5 (edited 11-22-2003).]
icehousebob
Hey J Hall, Why not do like I'm doing. I'm ordering a dozen of the 1/16th and a dozen of the 1/8th and dividing them with somebody. Since there's two of each color on the card it works out perfectly. That is until the one that's working great for panfish gets stolen by a Northern and you don't have a backup.
