Humminbird side imaging?

Has anyone used the humminbird 797SI unit. I need to get a new sonar/GPS for the boat and I was thinking maybe this would be a good unit. Any info on this would be a big help. Can the lakemaster chip be used in the humminbird? How much does the side imabing help in actual fishing. Can it see fish?

I have one, but just have not gotten to use it yet. Other People said it was a good choice. There have been a few other posts on them, i believe one is in the Bass forum.

I do know that the lakemaster chip wont work in it, you have to use the navionics chip.

Cant wait to try mine this spring...to see how many sunken boats are in my lakes

Thanks. Thats what I was afraid of. I don't like the navionics chip. I guess I'll stick to vertical sonar.
