Lowrance resolution

Has anyone actually used the LCX27C and the LCX37C and could explain the difference in the two resolutions? Does the SVGA screen on the 37C view better than the VGA on 27C? The screen size doesn't seem to be that much different. I am trying to understand why the 2 models are so similar but also wonder why the huge difference in price. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks......

The 27/28 has a 7" display and the 37/38 has a 8.4" display. That's measured diagonally and is a fair amount of difference in screen area. I wanted a 37 but decided to get the 28 and another 520 for about the same price of the 37 alone.

So what is the difference between SVGA and VGA?

I have not seen both of them side by side to be able to notice any difference between the SVGA/VGA.

In computer speak, vga is 640 by 480 and svga is 800 by 600
