SDWalleye
Just hooked up battery monitor to vx-1. Is it ok to leave this on with the LED on at all times, or should I disconnect it when not in use?
mediocrates67
i disconnect my battery from everything when not in use
NCLaker
Monitor draws a small charge, should be fine for a week or two if longer you will want to disconnect. DO NOT leave connected for long term storage (i.e. summer), it will run the battery down and likely wreck the battery or reduce ability to fully/hold charge. Also, recharge the battery fully after every use.
fisherman-andy
I have the Marcum digital monitor display/charger. I leave it on and hooked up. The only time I will take it off is when it's going to be stored for the rest of the year.
magnum mike
I put a switch in-line with the power supply that will control the battery monitor. It works great and you don't wear out the terminal ends on the wires or the battery from repeated use on & off.
SDWalleye
That sounds like a good idea magnum...i am a little inept when it comes to electronics though...what did you use...how do you do it...and do you have any pictures/diagrams? Schloogs
I'm like andy, I keep mine hooked up all the time unless it is going to be stored for extended period of time (summer). I believe the manual says the same.
