Fishing rod warranty

cray

Question

I just bought a new St. Croix rod and actually read the warranty and registered the rod. The warranty says if the rod becomes damaged they will inspect it for $20.If it is covered they will relace or repair it. If it is not, they will repair it for a fee. Has anyone had any experience with this? I can't help but wonder if this would be a waist of time and money.

I've sent a few back to St Croix in my days and have never had an issue. Actually, I've had a replacement at my door within about 10 days every time, 10 from me sending it to the new one arriving.

Definitely worth doing!

That goes against everything I have heard and experienced, St Croix policy is supposed to be everything goes thru them. I had a return after Xmas last year, tags still on it, and it took a manager approval, etc. to do a simple return.

Gander Series rods, Shinamos, they will do the over the counter, but not Croix rods per the manufacturer policy.

I bought a life time warrenty fenwick rod from Joe's and if you hold on to your Joe's reciept, they will send it in for you free of charge (avoid the $20 fee). It is my understanding that is true for their St. Croix's and Shimono's.
