Does anyone know when the new season starts?

There may not be a second season. I thought when they filmed the first season they shot enough footage for another season, but apparently that wasn't the case. Canadian lawmakers have since made it illegal to have cameras in the cabs of commercial vehicles, so they cannot shoot anymore episodes.

At the end of "The Final Run", it was announced that there will be another season of the program. It was stated as "Coming soon" though it will take the 2008 winter season to film new episodes.

A new rule for the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Roads was enacted for the 2008 season prohibiting commercial, media, video or rolling film cameras either inside or attached to the outside of vehicle.[9] At this time it is unknown how or if this new rule will affect the second season of Ice Road Truckers.

Darn,,this was one of the few 'realility' shows that I thought was worth watching.

Figures. The man has to hold anything good down. My BIL got clipped from the Cloquet papermill when the foreigners bought it a couple years ago. He got his CDL and runs pulp around the Range and as far west as Bemidji. He's pretty hard but has no interest in ice roading.
