Salmon net?

What are you guys using? I've been looking around, and really can't find a long handled, big hooped, heavy duty net. Everything that I find either has too small of a loop, or seems as if it would bend after the first 15 pounder gets scooped out of the water.

I just picked up a Beckman net for Muskies, seems it would be plenty big and sturdy. They have two nice sized nets, one for $125 one for $150 i can't wait to put my new one to use.

sparky, if your looking for a net to troll the Great Lakes you'll find them around the shops in Duluth. Marines General carries them.

Large hoops, strong, and long handle with telescoping extensions.

I got a stowmaster about 5 years ago and have been very happy with it. It gets a lot of use on big fish and has held up very well, the folding feature is quick and easy to use and saves a lot of deck space. Be sure to include one in your comparison.

Thanks guys, I checked that stow master out online, looks great. Where does a guy find one? I see cabelas sells them, but I did not see any in the retail store.

Marine general has them as does Gander in Duluth. Great nets but very pricey. I have a Frabil that I really like for Lake Superior. There are a lot of nice big nets in stores around Duluth. I think Marine General is offering a salle on the Stow Masters at the boat show this weekend.

I use a Frabil Kwik Kradle for all my larger fish. I could land a 60" sturgeon or a 50# flathead in this net with no problem. I dont believe there is a fish swimming in the waters around here that this net could not handle.

Maybe a little big for the Kings but it would land them without any problem at all.

The area where you can scoop them in is very nice and one can unhook a fish while still in the water for a quick catch and release. Great net but a little spendy.

Harvey lee, I think that the cradle is out, just for the fact of trying to yank a fish out of the water in 3-4 foot waves, not to mention getting them close enough to the boat to land in a cradle.

Bought a stowmaster salmon/northern tournament net, big hoop, sturdy, and long. What more could a guy ask for?
