I sent you an e-mail back about your transom question but for some reason it came back as an undeliverable address. I changed a couple of things and re-sent it but if you don't get it then let me know and I'll paste it on a post here.

figures! crazy.gif

so, i'll ask here!

any tips to removing the pcs. from the cavity of the transom when replacing the wood?

then which is best. making a wood one that is sealed,or buying one of the premade pcs.?

also; do you run a bead of silicon in the bottom before putting the wood back in? thanks! del

Well, well guess what ? I looked up and I will be driving by you this week. I have to go to Davenport and will drive through Charles City, toward Waterloo on hwy 218 (or 27). If you want I can drop it anywhere along the route, we can meet somewhere or whatever you prefer.

How does this sound ? Give me a call and we'll get the deal going.

Well, the e-mail got kicked back again, so here's a copy of it. Sounds like you and Valv are one step ahead of the game.

I wish there was a quick tool for this cause I'd be the first one on the order list. The best thing for this are long prybars, chisels, we've even used a chainsaw. (be VERY careful with that one).

Wood is the quickest and easiest to use, however Valv has some composit ones that will work on a transom with the correct dimentions. It might not hurt to check with him and see if it would fit yours.

Good luck

Steve

Ehhhm, I already went by !!!! Did you get my email ?

Anyway, since I missed you and that was plan B, I have plan C already in action.

The transom is laid against mile marker 221 northbound on Hwy 218/27, just north of.... maybe it's better if I don't write this on a public forum.... email me or call me !!!!
