Hi everyone new member as of yesterday glad to be on board. Been looking at some smaller area lakes that were mostly used as stock ponds by the DNR. Just kind of wondering if anyone out there is aware or heard of any lakes that are freezing out this year.

Welcome aboard...

I heard of some that they were going to liberalize... but I thought it was due to Retenone treatments and not a freezeout. You could call the DNR or go to their HSOforum and get an update.

If you drill some holes and fish eventually start moving up towards them it would be a sign that there is very low oxygen. It is possible some have frozen out this year. If the lake sees fishing pressure the DNR should have information on this.
