Lowrance vs Humminbird

Anyone have a preference over these brands? Have had a Lowrance X91 for a few years that broke and am in process of buying something new. Lowrance's seem to have bigger screens and are brighter...but something seems appealing to me about the Humminbirds.

No one has opinions on Lowrance vs Humminbird??? Isn't like Democrat vs Republican? I'm looking at an Eagle 500C, Lowrance X510C, and Humminbird 343C.

Give me some advice on the BEST FISHFINDER FOR UNDER $400!!! ;-)

I will give you my coment, even though its not worth anything! I have a Lawrance now, its been good to me. I want a new Hummingbird 997 side imaging, but I cant afford one. So that is my opinion!

I prefer Lowrance, especially for gps but even for sonar only.

I went with a new Lowrance X510C for $370...got a good deal on a display model.... Still selling for $420+ with the ducer online... Still has a 1 yr warranty - so I'll roll the dice.

If I wanted/needed something a step up... the Humminbird 777C2 would have been a no-brainer... Pretty sweet color finder. But this was the best I could find for under $400. I don't need anything better at the current time for the lakes Im on.

I think for 480 vertical pixels or less they are both good. I have the 777c2 (640 vertical) pixels and would recommend it when you can afford it.
