IGL CRAPPIES

Does anyone target crappies on these lakes? Ive caught a few by accident and got into them good one day on Spirit but cant find them very consitantly. Any lakes or bays that seem to hold them in the winter. Feel free to email me. [email protected]

Late ice, try anglers bay on Spirit or Millers or Emerson Bay on West Okaboji. Look for weeds and stay mobile. Smallest ice jigs you have and 1 or 2 lb test is essential.

i always heard that center lake can be really good at night. i don't recall actually catching any

I would agree with all of that and add this. If there Is a large crowd packed into a bay they are more than likely fishing either or both crappies and gills. This is usually true throughout the season not just late ice. Mobility is definitely the key if there arent fish under you. you arent going to catch any so why not keep moving until you get on some?

I fish this lake alot from ice out till it turns green and honestly never caught a crappie off it. I have taken many a meal of walleyes home though.
