Marcum versus Vexilar?

US, I try to not get to into it, but if you look back at other posts you'll see there are more people out there than you think that have had problems with the transducers. I'm not saying anything bad about them, just pointing out an observation I noticed. This is my opinion. I don't think, as well as they can build a transducer, the parts can't hold up to the extreme power. That is the great thing about these untis but it can also bring them down at times.

K Dawg and USMC - there was a batch of transducers that were produced that had the wrong epoxy consistency and I believe they were 1st or 2nd year LX-3's. MarCum made good on those with replacements. There are still plenty of first year and second year models still doing the job that did not need replacements so it was an isolated problem. Like most fishers down time without your flasher is dissapointing but it's good to know that if you need customer service there fast and reliable.

Just to be fair the first run FL-18's had a software problem not holding zoom on soft bottom substrates and they corrected the problem as well with a software patch.

Then you have the VPG again first unit and they had there issues and they responded with upgrades which you could purchase to get it up to the new Showdown.

That's why I think customer service is so important because any one can get a unit especially first run units that still may need to be tweaked that's why it's better to wait and bite the bullet at year two or three.
