Rod Rocker 2's

Just to let everyone know that the Rod Rocker 2's are back in stock and for sale. We ran out of them in early December and finally are restocked. It is a Great tip down rod holder system for all of your Portable Ice House Tubs or place them on a 2x8 piece of wood and put them anywhere (Inside or outside the house.) When set up the Rod Rocker 2 will not let a fish pull your rod down a hole! Even your minnow will be able to move the rod tip up and down while Deadsticking! Very sensitive! You can find them in the Tackle Store here or on my site at http://www.todaystackle.com

These are great rod holders. For anyone looking to do the Cool Cats event later this spring these work great for deadsticking a piece of cutbait. The cat takes the bait and never feels a thing untill you set the hook. \:D

Borch, Do you put the Rod Rocker 2 on a piece of wood and place it outside or do you put it into the side of your portable Ice House Tub? It works Great both ways.

I even use it alot for Walleye. I put a circle hook and minnow with a split shot above it and let it be. I also put a clip on Jingle Bells on the rod tip so I can here when the fish bite! That works slick.

We went up to LOW and rented a big house. I brought a portable drill with and drilled my two holes next to the hole and set up the Rod Rocker 2. Caught 3 walleyes with it. Never lost a ROD! I've seen too many of my buddies in the past few years put their rod down on the floor and walk outside, come back in and wonder where their rod went.

Thanks,

I have used it both ways but primarily inserted into a 2x8" board. It really does work nice. You can see the rod tip dip with slightest bite. You'd think by looking at it that a fish could take it but it just hangs there no matter how hard they pull.

I use this same setup ... I have always been concerned about losing my $100 combo down the hole (Thorn Bros Deadstick + Abu 100). Biggest concern is if a Pike were to grab and RUN. I think if it pulled hard enough to drag it into the hole, the rod rocker + rod would get stuck. I losen my drag a bit just in case.

Anybody have this happen?

I like the jingle bell idea Bruce - might have to try that. How are you clipping it on?

Thanks

The Rod Rocker 2 is a great tool for guys using a deadstick or set-line. Allows for just about the least amount of resistance when fish pulls on the bait. Also stores nicely and is very easy to use. I use them for just about every species at one time or another. A great catfish tool \:\)

I use these every time I go ice fishing. They work great and have gotten me totally away from using bobbers.

I have one mounted in holes drilled in the lip of my shack tub and the other in a piece of treated 1x8.

Last Sunday a northern (I think) took my crappie minnow and jig at about 100mph. The rod tip went down to the ice so fast that it took me a second to realize what was happening, but the rod was held in place. The fish got away with my minnow, but a rod that I may have lost if not for the rocker is still with me, ready to fish another day.

NCLaker,

I bought the clip on jingle bells at a Distributor show. But I think Danielson fishing products makes them. The bells are about the size of marbles, they are attached by springs to a small alligator clip. I clip this outfit on the top and end of my rod. Set the rod in the Rod Rocker 2 and go about my business from ho;e to hole or If I'm in my Otter Sled it's set up outside and I can hear it jingle jingle when a walleye bites. It works good!
