All of the above. One other possiblility but not likely at this time of year is that when the ice is not real crisp it can be more difficult to drill. This can become more of an issue in later ice when it starts to soften more.

The simple reason is its not getting enough fuel. A few of the other posters have touched on reasons for this - vent gas cap closed, bad diaphragm, dirty carb.

Another reason which we're learning a little more about is the carb jets and how these carbs are jetted to meet emissions standards. Sounds like the new Strikemasters are really experiencing this problem. The carbs are jetted too lean for the wintry weather we use our augers in.
