Need help lens is stuck

Today i tried to turn my camera on and it wont cause of my lens. It says lens error, restart camera and it wont work. i have got the powershot A560 and i have never had this problem. I also just recently baught it the day after thanksgiving.

can anyone help me out and what i should do.

Sounds like it is new enough that it should be covered under warranty so I would return the camera and go from there. Good luck.

Darrin, I agree. It should be fully covered under warranty and I'd take it back to where it was purchased and see if they'll exchange it. Barring that, it'll probably have to go back to Canon for warranty service, but you're best off seeing if the retailer will exchange it so you'll have a brand new one.

Just a Thought, but did you try and remove the batteries for a moment, then try open lense after you reinstall batteries? Every now and then I have to pull the battery on my XTi to do a restart of sorts.

Ok thanks for the help. Thats what i thought i had to do. I hope they do exchange it for me otherwise i will be going crazy.

paul i did try that and it dont seem to work. i have tried every possible way and nothing happens.
