I have an oppurtunity to buy a 5 year old polaris v plow the guy wants $700. was wondering what these sell for new?do they work well?I plow from the cabin to my fish house about 2 miles and my straight blade just doesn't cut it.

I bought mine 5 years ago for around $500 with the mounting system. $700 is way too high. They do work excellent, very versitale for breaking trail, scooping as well as normal plowing. I am sure you could still find a new one for around the $500 mark.

Just make sure that when the blade is in a V it pushes the snow out past the outsides of your tires. Otherwise you will be driving over your own furrows.

I have a Polaris V-plow about 5 years old. I haven't checked lately but back then I think they only came 48" wide. I don;t know if other widths are available today either. $700 That's either a typo or the guy's pulling your leg.

With mine V'd it is about 51" wide. I know this because I just tried to put in on my 4 ft wide trailer. I think mine is 56" when straight. You should be fine plowing to a fishhouse, I have done it many times. It also makes banking the house much easier too.

Oh, I liked it. I gave it to my brother-in-law so I can't measure it exactly, since I can't remember the width positively.
