Computer monitor to underwater cam

Ryan Becklund

Question

I am trying to figure out how to hook my underwater cam up to a flat screen comp monitor....wondering if anyone has done this before and how it works. The cam has a rca style out and the monitor has a vga style in. I am thinking that they may make a adapter but am unsure. Thanks for the help.

I'm about 51% sure that you will need more than just an adapter cable. I think you'll need a composite video to VGA converter - unless you can find a monitor or LCD tv with a composite video input.

Cheapest converter I saw in a brief search was here for about $120.

Ahhh.... yes. I had it backward. As stated by Whoaru99 it's going to cost you some bucks. I would say, give it up and buy a used lcd tv or regular tv from craiglist that has rca inputs. I tried making my own underwater camera last winter and used a small portable tv that had inputs. It worked fine.

The camera quality wasn't as good at the aqua-views. You could also use a portable DVD player that has inputs. My Toshiba has a video in and I can hook up my computer to it via rca or any other device including my camera into it.
