Wondering when the best time would be to try this place in the winter.

Now is also a good time. Anytime in Dec and early Jan can be good. It can also be good after that, but a bit more spotty.

I am heading up at the end of March. Anyone know of resorts right on the lake? We are most likely going to stay at Cats on the Red. Stayed there once before and were very impressed, but we would prefer to be right on the lake if possible.

BD....the Red can stay active throughout the winter. She's producing very, very well at this time and should continue to do so. We spend a lot of time on the ice, therefore we are constantly in the loop regarding current ice and fishing conditions. As previously mentioned, Lake Winnipeg is also producing at this time as well.
