Any reports on ice and fihing on Devils Lake?

Any word on whats happening on Devils??

Ice conditions on Devils Lake are steadily improving. Most of the smaller bays have close to 12" of ice. The main lake, which was last to freeze has spots where we are still finding 5" of ice. It will be a while before we can drive vehichles but it is no problem getting around with an ATV. Many good reports are coming in from around the lake on perch. We have been having our best luck in 30-36 ft useing waxworms on Halis or Genz worms. Walleye fishing has been spotty but if your on the right spot there has been some really nice fish coming in lately. Best times have been sunrise and just before sunset. Go Demons and Buckshots timpped with minnow heads have been working best. Pike fishing continues to be excellent in the shallow bays along the flooded timber and flooded roads.

was up there not more than 2 weeks ago. Ppl driving all over the bays (16-18 inch ice) The main lake was another story. Still unpredictable ice. Fishing was pretty good, but not excellent (for walleyes). they were in shallow, but my guess is that they a wandering deeper now. Afternoon bite was the pits.

I was up at Woodlands Resort this past weekend for 3 days. Fishing was slow, but we managed over a dozen walleyes and a few perch in deep water and a few pike in the shallows. Everyone up there said fishing is slow right now. On a side note...Woodlands was a great resort and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
