GotOne
I have an older Snapper 5hp, 2 stage snow blower. When under load (lots of snow) the governor doesn't kick in (I think that is what it is that revs up the motor under load). Any ideas what I can do to get that increased power? Thanks. 0 luckyc
Is your throttle shaft free, can you grab the govenor and move it in turn moving the throttle? If not a little WD40 on the shaft on top and inside carb and then make sure it's free by moving it back and forth and hitting with a little more WD40. If that doen't do the trick you have a serious problem inside the engine that will require the engine be opened up and a new govenor put in. 0 Surface Tension
What luckyc said. Also check for snow around the throttle linkage that melted and froze.
