Question

What is the minimum depth you would expect this unit to pick up your lure in? I am totaly new to this flasher game and want to make sure I am not messing something up!!! I was out tonight and fired it up, seemed to find a good bottom but was only about 4 1/2 feet deep and even with the line in the same hole as the transducer, I couldn't see my lure? Sorry to ask such a novice question. But what conditions should I be looking for?

I have used my Marcum in 5 feet and can pick up my lure but it has to be basically right under the transducer. You will have to play with the gain a little and probably don't expect to pick up your lure at all times. For example, when I fish this shallow with a jigging spoon, I can pick the spoon up when it is still but when I jig it it will flutter out of the transducer cone and I won't be able to see it.

I feel kinda goofy using my flasher in water this shallow but once you use a flasher you can't fish without it!!
