Nuggies and Wedgees

Craigums

I just picked up some of these little plastics from the Thorne Bros. booth at the ice show. What is the best way to use these things. I have an idea in my head but, i'd like some outside input. Pictures of any pre-rigged jigs would be GREATLY appreciated.

Most of the time you can just go with a horizontal presentation, with a horizontal bait. Sometimes, depending on your hook size you might have to hook the nuggies near the top of the "egg" section. Wedgees can be used as vertial dressing on a spoon. You can also fish the nuggie horizontally on a spoon while it hangs vertical. Just a jiggle action on the rod tip works best. You can also rig the nuggies horizontally on a dropper from the spoon or jig.

Sorry no pics, always hated sticking holes in my plastics unless I was fishing them. Will be in Alex after Sunday, maybe I can get some pics while out on the ice.

That would be great...Like I said ive got it pictured in my head I think and will be trying them out this weekend but if someone is willing to post a pic of a pre-rigged jig I'd owe you big...I picked up some marmooskas and genz worms so most likely i'll be fishing them on horizontals. Thanks ahead of time if anyone gets a chance to post a pic

Not the best picture in the world as far as rigging these little critters but this is a LA Nuggie on a LA Optic Stealth jig.

I try and keep the hook through the top half of the "ball" on the Nuggie.

Probably my favorite color combo too! wink.gif

The nuggies I always fish like Hanson shows in his pic by nicking the egg part with a hook and fishing it horizontally with one of the many horizontal jigs available out there now,(Optic, optic stealth, diamond jig, Marmuska, etc). The wedgies I either thread them on and fish them trailing out behind a horizontal jig or I t-Bone them or hook them wacky style. This works well with the noodles as well.

Other than thet it's only limited by what you want to try. Somedays it's something totally different.
