I purchased one of these houses about 1 hour ago. Very nice looking, versitle, and built very well from what I have seen/heard. I posted a similar question yesterday on this forum but I did not mention the brand cause I wanted an unbiased opinion. Unfortunately I did not get one response. Anyhow, I hee'd and haa'd for about 45 days and did a ton of research and I bought the lodge. I think it is hard to get info on them because there are not as many out as some other companies. The main things I was concerned with was I wanted spray insulation, durability, and strong axles. When the house bounces over breaks the inertia of the house can be as much as 2.5 times what the house weighs. Besides that, I just think these houses are sweeeeeeeeeeet rigs. Mine is maroon and I get it on Friday. After that its address will be RMS--LOTW. Probably wont be in action for ohhhh 3 weeks. If you see it feel free to stop in!!! Sorry I couldnt help ya out more but hopefully a little.

I replied on an earlier post about mine. Had it one year and love it. My negative was my ranger wouldn't fit in it but that is not the manufacturers fault. My dealer put in the wrong battery and the factory took care of it, they recommend the Optima. Not sure if it is an option or not but I wish I had electronic crank down, don't really need it, just lazy I guess. The wife is making drapes for me this year. People love to stop by to look at it. It resides on Rainy Lake.

I hope you have better luck than I did. I still have the material that I bought 20 years ago when my wife was going to make curtains for my pickup topper. Now she is talking about making curtains for my ice house. Maybe I should buy some flour sacks. grin.gif

Thanks for the info guys. If I'm going to make this kind of investment I'm looking for something that will be around for 10-15 years and these shacks seem to be very well built. I'm looking at the "Grand" or "Mega". Do you guy's happen to know the weight of your shacks? That was the other concern I had.

My 8x20 ways in at about 4800lbs. the 8x18 is atleast 500lbs lighter and I believe the 8x16 (single axle) is around 3500 lbs.

Check with your tax preparer but I found out with the kitchen area and a bathroom you can write the interest off as a second home.

Check with Lisa down at Noble RV in Owatonna, that is where I purchased mine they were awesome to deal with. Their HSOforum shows they still have 1 2007 "mega" leftover in black. Financing was quick and easy thru Dustin. They were even nice enough to deliver it to St.Cloud as I purchased it over the phone. They won't let themselves be beat on price onb an identical model.
