Hey Randy, have you heard if the MN DNR are doing anything with special regulations on the streams that were effected by the Aug. flooding? Whether for the winter catch and release or for next years trout fishing season?

Nothing as of yet, Chris. I doubt there will be any changes in winter regulations this close to the beginning of the season, but if I hear anything...

It'll be interesting to fish Garvin in its new form.

I know what you mean, there are a few streams that should be interesting to fish after that flooding. Time to start tying some new jigs!!! 32 days left.

It's windy and 17 degrees right now in Forest Lake. Hard to think about trout right now!

Hey Randy, was the whole Garvin trashed after the storms? What about the area between Stockton and the Arches, or the marginal pasture water downstream from town near the stonebridge? Got any more new pictures?

Oops...sorry I missed this.

Yeah, much of Garvin was reworked from the flash flood last August, especially that stretch around Stockton and the Arches. There's still fish there, but it's got a whole new look...pretty ugly in places, you'd be amazed what the power of water has done.

I don't have any new pics, but hope to get out this winter/spring to see how things are coming along.

Thanks Randy. I haven't been down there since the big storm. A friend lives on the Rush near where they found the body of that guy. He says the changes to rivers are amazing.
