Kettle Falls Hotel

guts

Recommended Posts

Just a short note to anybody that frequents Kettle Falls over the past couple of years and had the opportunity to meet or know Tony Hauser (Tone-Dawg's).

Tony was one of the hotels bartenders, and last year he was a very effective fishing guide out of the hotel.

Tony died as a result of a horrible snowmobile accident this past Saturday night
he was only 27 years young. His funeral will be at Kabetogama Thur. Jan. 8, please say a prayer for Tony and his family.

Tone-Dawg's was a very active sportsman in this area that loved fishing, helping others and snowmobiling, he will be missed by everyone who knew him. God Bless You All.
Guts.

Im very sorry to hear this. I did not know Tony or his family. As he is a respected person and fellow fiserman i will say a prayer for him and his family. God bless them all. Great people leave smiles on the faces of their peers when they are remembered. Im sure Tony had this quality. My prayers are with him and everyone that cared for him.

I was wondering if anyone knew him because his funeral was listed in the star tribune and I was shocked at his age.. 27 is so young to go..but it sounds like he was a great guy and I will pray for him and his family.

Dr Bob
Tony was a little over 6' tall good build light brown hair and an above the lip only mustache. He worked at the hotel guiding and or bartending 5-6 days a week.
He was just a great kid, who's life was snuffed to soon. God Bless, Guts

Guts - Did he move to the area from the cities (or somewhere down there) in the last few years and have his own boat, a big white runabout - I think, at Kettle Falls?

If it is the same guy I am thinking about - I drank with him for a few hours and we had a real good time BSing about duck hunting in North Dakota. And he gave me a ride down to the dock when he realized I had a food cooler in my boat. By the time we got there it was to late. The bear had already had a party!

I am pretty sure his name was Tony - but I am not real good remembering names.

Again - what a bummer. I have personally known 2 other guys that have died on sleds. It happens so fast and is so hard on everyone.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL FOLKS frown.gif

Dr. Bob.
Yep, that sounds like Tony, he was an avid hunter as well as fisherman, and always helping people.
They moved to the area in 1997, and he worked at the hotel for two years.

He was laid to rest yesterday, and he will be missed by all people who knew him. The Island he was killed on is named Bittersweet, it now has a whole knew meaning.

God Bless, guts...

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
