Vexilar question for my fellow iceheads

I dug out my Vexilars a little bit ago and discovered that I had left them connected to the battery since last winter. They both were dead. I hooked the chargers up and the newer unit of the two is taking a charge just fine. The older unit of the two (3 years old) is showing weird things in the battery status indicator. The power on light is lit and the 100% light is lit as well as the disconnect charger light. The 20%-40% light and the 50%-90% light are not lit. I unplugged the charger until I could find a reason for this. Both units are FL-8's.

I think my battery could be shot but I thought I would check with the "experts" first.

Does anyone know where I can get the "Sportsmans" battery for less than $29.99?

Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up plugging it in to the charger last night. Checked on them this morning and with the chargers disconnected both units work but the power light is the only light lit on the battery status indicators. Since I let the batteries get fully discharged, could I have killed them both?

Ditto on what Boar said. If you don't start your car for a month it will most likey be dead to. On all of are rechargable we have to keep on top of them year around even if were not going to use them. Try a werker agm from Batteries Plus.

The only way to know is to have the battery tested to see if it holds a charge. I've also burnt out lights on my battery indicator, because it's been on the ice so much. That could also be your problem, but the battery is more likely. When you replace the battery, get the better sealed gel battery and avoid the cheaper lead acid battery if you can, they are worth the extra money.
