Fish&Fowl
I am about as rookie as you can be to bow hunting, and my uncle just gave me a high country he used to use. I don't think it's been used very much and I'm not sure how old it is, but it seems like a nice bow. Anybody have any experience with them? Also some bare minimum tune-ups or anything I should have checked out? I like to spend my fall in the duck or goose blind besides rifle season, but I'm thinking pretty seriously about trying some bow hunting next fall. I figure with so many other bad habits, what's one more??
solocam
Back in the day they were one of the better bows out there. As far as what needs to be checked I would start by checking the string and cables. If it is a older bow you should put a new string on it. Bring it to one of pro-shops and have it checked out. Make sure that the draw length is the correct length for you also.
DeanoB
I agree take to pro shop, and then practice as much as possible before going out next fall!
Neiko
I shoot a HCA Carbon 4 Runner and love it. The main reason I bought it was the weight. It weighs less then 3 lbs and it has a small axle to axle. It is a fast and accurate bow. They had some Customer Service Issues a few years back but they have supposedly fixed them and are working to get back in the market more. When ever I decide to get a new bow it will be ht first one I look at.
