Climbing Sticks- How high can i go

I use climbing sticks for my stands. All reach 20 ft. I wanted to get a little higher on a couple trees am I OK/safe getting a 5ft extension. Rather not use the screw ins for the extra 5. Anyone use climbing sticks to reach that high?

I use 3 lightweight BuckSteps climbing sticks, but I also carry 2 or 3 lightweight strap-on steps by Ameristep. I ONLY USE THE STRAP-ON STEPS DOWN LOW. They work, but I'm still, um, cautious. Screw in steps give me the willies.

with this configuration, I can easily reach 20 ft, but I don't bow hunt more than 10-12 at very most 15 feet anyways. Rifle is a different story....

I also use Bucksteps. I've been to 24-25ft before. There is no law about how high you can go with a portable. Only problem is getting that high and having a good shot and knowing how to shoot the angle.

how high ya need to be, jeez! I would think you would need a lone tree to be that high up and not have to deal with a bunch of branches from surrounding trees. But I would go with climbing sticks to go that high up, NOT screw-ins.
