walleyedan
This was a classic. I was out fishing with my Dad, his friend Bruce and Tim Hanske (who is one of our regular guides). Before we wet a line this afternoon, I asked Tim if he would jump in the drink with his Arctic Armor suit if he caught a 28" or larger walleye. He agreed without hesitation and sure enough he caught a fat 28 incher. He held to his word and made the plunge holding the walleye as he floated. Got to love it!Walleyedan
Scott M
Awesome story. How about if I catch a 33+" I will jump in AND buy one of those suits! You'll have to take some pictures next time.
walleyedan
Deal, but buy the suit first. I am due to have a 33 plus take a look at the inside of my boat, it's been a long time. But.......we have had a 27 and 2-28's in the last 3 days. Maybe da turdy pound walleye will bite tomorrow.Walleyedan
hawkeye43
walleyedan, since I went and stood in the rain and didn't get wet, last sunday I took the plunge off the dock to see if float. Now I think my wife has started plan to put me away in a soft room someplace far,far away.
MOBY RICHARD*
Dan, do these suits keep you warm and dry if you go in and under or waves over, or only from rain???
walleyedan
Tell her you are just normal.Walleyedan
walleyedan
Moby,If you go in the drink and the water temp is in the 40's or colder, you will get cold but when and if you get out your body heat will end up warming the water on the inside of the suit. I had this happen last year when we did the true test in icy waters. The suits are phenomenal, I've been wearing the new camo and I love it.Walleyedan
polarsusd81
So do the suits pretty much seal up at the ankle and cuff or how do they work? I would imagine water would be able to come in from those locations. I am wanting to buy one but would like to know more about it.Thanks,Tom
Deitz Dittrich
Tom, there is a tight fit at the ancles and wrist, but I dont feel its tight enough to be water tight. You are going to get wet... but I think its one of them things that like Dan said, your body heat will warm that water pretty quick. I dont thin you will want to stay wet long, but it will keep you alive to be able to get out of the water. The way I look at it... You need a warm suit for ice fishing anyway, not a bad thing if it floats as well.. Dan.. how on earth do you not have a camera ready when this guy is floating with a walleye? I'm dissapointed!
