1992 Polaris Indy 500

Question

I getting my son machine ready for the up coming winter, but have two questions.

1. the "RDY" light came on and will not go off and

2. there is what I would call alot of smoke out of the exhaust. he just bought it used, do not know how old the gas is or the last time a plug was changed.

any ideas?

I'm not much of a sled mechanic so I'm not sure about the light but I would siphon/drain out any old gas and start with fresh stuff to avoid any possible issues w/ old fuel. Also check the plugs and replace if necessary or at the very least buy an extra set and throw them in the tool box so you have spares when you need them. If it hasn't been run in a while it might not hurt to clean the carbs. Depending on how well it was cared for you might want to grease the suspension fittings and check your belts.

I have an older indy that I bought and those were the steps needed to get it back in action, now its a champ.
