duck hunting around the walker area

just incase bow hunting this weekend doesn't pan out i was just wondering if someone could guide me to a lake that would be decent for some ducks i have a boat with a trolling motor so it couldn't be a huge lake. any info would be great otherwise i guess its either bow hunting or grouse. I haven't seen this woods before its my buddies grandparent cabin so hopefully there will be some nice deer otherwise ducks are my second choice.

Not sure exactly where this is again...it's been probably about 18 years or so since I have hunted this lake...

Hart (or heart) lake northwest of Walker. All I remember is we headed north on 371, and for some reason I think we turned on 200 toward laporte. Stream comes into it and out of it, and there is some tall bullrush too..

Also, if you are willing to travel a little bit from walker is Big Rice lake on HWY 6 south of remer. Here, though, you cannot use anything motorized. Oars or paddles here, but lots of places to set up and pull a boat in on.

Hopefully with the colder weather there will be more ducks around. I have not hunted for ducks for about 10 years or so now, just because there are not enough ducks around to make it worth my time. But..I am a little further south and in pothole areas that local ducks seem to use more, so when they fly out, not much more comes in...

Whenever I want to find a lake with birds, I simply just gas in my truck and drive around til I find them. Look at maps and take numerous stops to glass and walk into other areas where you can't drive, the results are magical!
