Shetek kid
Has an open source photo program very similar to Photoshop been mentioned on this page ?
Steve Foss
Not sure about that one. Do you have one you like and think is good, or are you looking for one? Let us know. Just a reminder not to post links to products/sites without approval, but if there's a good free shareware program out there that has some decent muscle, this is a good place to talk about it.Used to be that the software that came with the cameras was pretty lame, but recent versions have gotten a good bit better. Dbl
GNU Image Manipulation Program or GIMP is freeware designed to be a Photoshop clone. I know a few folks using it, I have never used it myself, but others report it is a decent program. For free it sounds like it would be worth checking out if you don't have Photoshop. Steve Foss
Sounds like a good deal. You can find out more about it by putting the usual stuff before and after GIMP (it's an org) to see it online. They even have a Mac version.
Shetek kid
DBLFreeware is not the correct term, it is an open source program/code. From what I understand anybody can write custome code (if they know how) for their copy and release it if they like. If the overseers like the new they will incorporate it into the master file. Haven't you ever said to yourself "I wish this program would work this way" ? The 2 guys that wrote the original graduated from Berkeley if that tells you anything. Best bet check out the web site.
