Recommended Posts

There is a public slough in Green Isle. I talked to a couple of guys who hunted it opening day and they got 10..that was with letting all the teal go. They did mention that there were plenty of other hunting it but theat can be expected for opening day.

might hit it tommorrow but dont know. i bought some decoys now the problem is how to retrieve the ducks....im going to take my inflatable boat with me in case i do shoot some ducks.geese i can go in and retrieve them.. im not going to be on it unless i have to go retrieve ducks.. do you think that would do the trick????

I would plan on it vs. waiting for something to happen. If you knock one down you're going to want to get on it right away. Assuming you have waders, stuff the boat in the cattails and stand next to it (of course, it isn't bright yellow or anything?).

If you are setting out decoys your best chance should be at decoying birds, hopefully dead in decoys. A quick wade and your back in the 'blind'.

When there, you need to stick your nose into the breast feathers and take a HUGE whif... you'll be hooked.

We took the jet boat out on the river tonight in henderson looking for ducks. We had them pinned down until the river went way up. Now we might get the waders out and jump some small ponds and cricks tomorrow.
