st.crioxfishin
Yeah there are a few pros down here. I got to meet Gary Klein, Luke Clausen, Jeff Kriet, and Kelly Jordan yesterday at cabelas, which was pretty cool. They haven't really said whether its real tough or not. They do know that a 12lb bag will probably be close to leading the tournament after the first day. Its just not a very good lake in late summer. Which is what were facing right now. Today was a little better, but still not great. 1 or 2 keepers will go along way in this tournament. Who knows though, maybe we just don't know what were doing down here, but I think the weights will be low.
BassAkwards
Good Luck Bob! I went to the site and wish I knew that there were college fishing tournaments when I was in school a year or two ago. Let us know about all the sweet stuff you got from the sponsors at the tournament. I hope you get to be in the top 5 on the last day--cause then you will have a sweet boat for the day! st.crioxfishin
Hey guys, thanks for all the support. Unfortunatley we zeroed today...which really takes a hit on our chances of making the top five. We had some fish that were 13.75 inches but just wouldn't go 14". I don't think I've ever been this humbled in a tournament before, pretty bumbed out about the whole deal and not being able to represent our school and midwest very well, but theres alot more to life than just fishing which helps put things into perspective. The other wieghts show that it was a tough first day, but some teams always seem to figure it out. 13lbs was leading it when we left the weigh-in. We'll probably scrap what little of a game plan we had today and hope for a better day tomorrow.
Ray Esboldt
Bob,I've been down 0 street before. Swing hard for the fences tomorrow. There's 5 catchable 4lbers in that lake. Look at each piece of structure and concentrate for 10 minutes on the piece that you think will hold the big momma. Pull the trolling motor and get on to the next one. There's no pressure on your team tomorrow. Show up at the dock knowing that yesterday was not your day, but today can be.
